Dedicated in memory of Jim Collins

The WPGC Hide The Picnic promotion was held on Sunday, September 29th, 1967. Patterned after a similar promotion at WMCA in New York, clues were given over the air. Over 12,000 listeners figured out the secret location and attended at Clinton Regional Park.

Clues

Find the picnic, don't be in the dark.
The Good Guys picnic is in a brand new park.

Fun, music, prizes, that's the bounty.
Find the picnic in Prince George's County.

Three words make up the place's name.
It's a regional park - do you like our game?

The dedication of this park was postponed by the weather.
But we planned a happy get-together.

The park's in a town of seven letters.
I hope our clues are getting better.

Here's a picnic clue that's easy as can be.
The place's initials are C-R-P.

Our picnic's planned to go smooth as silk.
And the town spelled backwards is NOT-NILC.
