Dedicated in memory of Jim Collins

Lee Chambers (aka 'El-Double-E') was hired by Scott Shannon as WPGC's first intern in 1979. He returned to the station in February 1982 from KIX-106 when Steve Kingston hired him for weekends and Programming Assistant. Later in the year he was promoted to full time for overnights and over the next two years went on to do late nights & evenings as well as Music Director when Bruce Kelly left the station for B94 in Pittsburgh.

While at WPGC, he was hired by former WPGC Program Director, Jim Collins for freelance air work at WNBC / New York, the most listened to station in the nation at the time. Lee left WPGC for Q107 in the Fall of 1984. In May of 1985 he was hired for permanent air work at WNBC. When the sale of all the NBC stations occured in 1987 he returned to DC doing air work and programming support at WMZQ as well as B104 in Baltimore.

He left for the West Coast to program Q94 in Bakersfield, CA in August 1988. Afterwards he worked at numerous stations in Southern California including KLAC, STAR 98.7 and spent ten years on the air coast to coast on the Westwood One Radio Network's satellite formats on the Oldies Channel, the '70's Channel & 'Groovin' Oldies'.

For a period of five years he was the Interactive & New Media Manager at the ABC cluster in LA for KABC / KLOS / KSPN / KDIS. He then was the Production Director at 100.3 The Sound in LA as well as a radio instructor at the CSB School of Broadcasting in Los Angeles. In 2022, he retired from KOLA / San Bernardino after 20 years where his show was rated #1, Persons 6+ by Nielsen's PPM.
