Listen To This WPGC Aircheck

Dave Kellogg did late nights, 10p-2a at WPGC in 1973-74. He later spent many years at WMZQ including mornings with Carol Parker (now with Mix 107 / D.C.) as "The Carol & Kellogg Show" with Don O'Bryan as the voice of Ace O'Brien sports. Later he did the show solo with Dick Uliano news and Mike Patrick (now ESPN TV) sports.

After 12 years at WMZQ he went to mornings at XTRA 104 until 1995 when he left for Fort Myers, Florida where today he is the Group Director of Production for Meridian Broadcasting.

This aircheck consists of one brief break over the very 'Summer of '42'-ish, 'Summer (The First Time)' by Bobby Goldsboro.

Contesting at the time consisted of the 'Cash Kick Off' with $50 up for grabs, coinciding with the resumption of football in the fall. Contestants had to correctly predict the pre-determined outcome of what a fictious ball carrier would gain on the play. Voiced by Harv Moore impersonating Howard Cosell, the pre-recorded play-by-play had possible outcomes of 25, 50, 75, 100 or no yards at all.
